Ending good – Starting great

with one comment

Although this post is published a bid late I still value to share it with you. Since a very long time I stopped of thinking about making New Years resolutions, because unlike many people I could never see anticipated changes coming to life which were based on such short lived thoughts. Today I can say the only resolution that worked for me to not make them anymore. This led me to make changes when they were needed and I simply call them Resolutions On Demand.

This time New Year was right in the middle of a week so many took that opportunity by investing 2-3 more days to get nearly 10 days off. That also gave me the chance of 6 continuous days of freedom as my clients too enjoyed such an extended week. I decided to use this time given Read the rest of this entry »

To speak or Not to speak – that is No More the question!

Who doesn’t know the opening phrase of Hamlet Nunnery Scene “To be, or not to be, that is the question …”. I like to borrow that same phrase for this post as it fits perfectly into my own life drama. In my recent blog entry I wrote of a particular moment of my private life. It tells in short a very special experience I’ve made that even today after more than 20 years it doesn’t want to go away easily. That case is so daunting and unbelievable that makes it difficult to tell – but I must.
The 50minCoach Blog is my business blog that deals with topics related to my coaching and mentoring work. So why am I sharing private matters here? First of all I Read the rest of this entry »

Running saved and still saves my live

It’s being a great 15 weeks. On my 62nd birthday I decided to run again as I felt it unbearable not to. Without going into details, NOT running is creating all that today is experienced by NON active citizens – especially when they get older.

A short look back. 24 years ago I and my family lost literally everything – our wealth of not less than a million dollar and the company I had built over the past years. How? A Swiss rogue group even comprising of local government employees hijacked a new and innovative service I opened to help the economy minimize losses through addiction at the workplace. This group has acted not only very Read the rest of this entry »

The shaping of a Leader

My friend Cheryl Zwarkowski who completed here fifth Bad Water race across Death Valley in California, USA over a distance of 135 miles, wrote in a post: “… we got through a couple valleys “out there” – this made me think.

Looking at my own experience in Long Distance Running and my life under duress, I would interpret Cheryl’s statement as such: “The valleys are numerous. Either physical shaped by nature that created the mountains. Then the Emotional valleys are the ups and downs of our feelings coming from the elements like weather and climate we are exposed to. Our physic is also experiencing the passing through valleys as the long duration of strains is challenging our muscle, skeletal and cardiovascular system. And last but not least our mind and the physiognomy has constantly to prove it’s toughness not to give up. If we manage to overcome all those valleys at the same time, we have proven our high level of capacity we bear in us. I sum It usually into the simple word of “Mental Endurance“.  The ability not to give up as soon we face a challenge.

Question: How can Corporations build “Mental Endurance” for their key staff?

Exercise – and you will be blessed with much Life

leave a comment »

On my Home track I often see an older woman walking the trails. She must be anywhere from 70 to 80. I much admire here spirit walking for her own sake in staying healthy. Usually when I see here I will only take note without interrupting my Run. Then, about 8 weeks back, here being caught my eye. She was accompanied by family members. I was so please because it’s being so long I didn’t see here walking. Also I must admit I didn’t recognized here immediately. So I stopped and got closer to her just to be sure it’s her. Of course the other family members where looking a bit strange. I explained that I always see the older woman but for a long time not and that I was very happy to see here back.
Today I saw the older woman again alone. I stopped and felt to have a small talk with her. Yes she was happy I as about here health and give here positive signals that what she is doing is great. My words to her where: “It’s very nice to see you Exercising, you will be blessed with much life”.
I don’t feel to say “with a long life” to others, so therefore I use “much life”. Exercising is giving us “much Life” in all senses – a good spirit, less depressions, better sleep, more balanced eating, etc. etc. This adds up and give us “much value of Life”.
